Back in March when we were starting seedlings, my 20-month old thought it would be funny to mix up some of my plant markers. I had thought I had transplanted a whole bunch of romaine seedlings, but of course this is not romaine! I cannot narrow it down either, I have like 75 seed packets we planted from. Please help!! Thanks in advance.

I wish i could help but about the best thing i can do is tell you your not alone my son dumped all of my seeds in a pile and i had to plant them and wait for them to sprout to see if i could figure them out. I hope i got them right but i wont know for a month or so.

At first I thought it would be fun to have a mystery garden. I have everything figured out but this one is stumping me. I don't think it resembles anything I have a packet for. I am almost starting to wonder if there was a mix-up at the seed factory. When they started the leaf looked like a strawflower or a daisy, but now those are ruled out so I have no clue.

Once they bloom it'll be easier to figure them out

The same thing happened with me. I KNOW I planted Mexican Cigar plant in a few spots, and instead I have Cleomes! Go figure. At least I like Cleomes too

The seed heads remind me of Broccoli Rabe but I don't think the leaf is right.

yeah we did regular broccoli but not rabe. I am actually wondering if it isn't a flower of some sort?

Somebody in another forum suggested it might be hounds tongue. When I googled some images it does indeed look to be the closest match so far. Does anyone know if mix-ups at the seed factory ever happen? Any known cases of that?

Oooh Borage is beautiful! But I finally figured out what it is! I was given a free sample of some generic seeds in a plain packet from a local business and I remembered tossing the packet away since it didn't have any info on it. They are Chinese Forget-Me-Nots aka hound's tongue or cynoglossum!! I am going to transplant them from my raised bed this afternoon since they can be invasive. . . So glad the mystery is over and that it is a plant I am excited about seeing bloom.
