I have a 14 ft area i want to plant impatiens in. I was thinking of buying 4 six packs. You think this is enough? Unless i plants them closer than 5 six packs. thanks Tura |

I think that the rule of thumb is 6-8 inches apart, but mine always get too happy and grow large. Then they are all over each other. I guess it depends on how well they grow in the spot. |

I'm a big fan of masses of plants/blooms, so I dig deep, so roots can penetrate easily, and I put plants a bit closer together than is recommended. If your soil is REALLY rich, then they are likely to get very full, and you may not have to plant them closer together. |

Mom and I just reading this thread and enjoying the beautiful photo. Wanted to add that when we planted, we staggered the plants for a fuller look. |
