Well, I have moonflower seedlings as of this am. We had a horrible rain yesterday. I have two varieties of moonflower planted, 7 or so each of seeds. I now have one seedling of each variety to appear. I am thrilled!

Now I am hoping I will see them grow up and bloom, this season. LOL

I hope your Moonflower grows well. A Friend gave me several seeds, and I planted them all. One came up. It is beautiful covering my little arbor and smells great! Same with my morning glories. Only 2 out of a whole packet of seeds came up. We finally had a good rain! Supposed to have more showers this evening. I can see the grass growing and now... the mosquitoes are out.

Thanks Carolyn. I just went out and counted how many of the 7 seeds per variety came up. Would you believe 6 seedlings of each came up. I am thrilled. I'm hoping they do well too. Will let yall know.

Suggestions from anyone/all would be great on growing moonflowers.

Hey, Pink-How's the moonflower? Mine is doing well, and starting to make seed pods. I am collecting a few at a time. I really like this vine. It is sturdy, and easy to move its vines around without breaking them-beautiful coverage and beautiful flowers-too bad they are only seen at night!

Hey Carolyn,
The purple moonvines have bloomed, the white moonvines have not. I was surprised to see they are so very small. I'd say about 2 inches (the flowers).

I now have seed pods on the vine. I suppose I should leave them on vine until they dry?

Carolyn, I would love to see pics of your moonvine. What color did they bloom?

Here are a few shots of mine. It was hard to get the pics at night but that, as you well know, is the only time they bloom.

I didn't know they came in purple, also!! My mv is white. There is a pick of it in my photos, just the flowers, though. I'll take one of the whole vine this pm. I have both moonflower and morning glories growing on my arbor. The moonflower has attached itself to my crepe myrtle branches, and I'll have to untangle that. I'm hesitant to get up there because...MY DANG CATS WILL FOLLOW ME!! They're like 2 bad kids! They've already torn up my mandevilla, I'd rather they leave this alone! I picking seed pods when they are mostly dry. I think the birds are getting some, too.

Hi Carolyn,
Just did. Very nice. Love the pics of all your plants. Your Bird of Paradise picture is very pretty!

I think I have a minature version of moonvine, really. Mine is so very small. I also planted white moonvine seeds, they came up but have not bloomed.

Thanks Aurora. The purple is going to seed, but my white hadn't bloomed. I've not seen moonvines so small before, but then, I've not seen moonvines until now.
