Besides working in the garden, that is. What do you do to "bring in the bacon" so-to-speak? Me, I'm a Alzheimers Caregiver and Med-Aide in an Assisted Living facility in our small farming village. I love my job but, it can be a bit stressful at times. That's when I come home and go out to the gardens and KILL those WEEDS! Just trying to get to know the members a little! Next? |

Well....... I am an abstractor. I work for an attorney and my job is to research properties for pre-foreclosure stuff- like who owns it, how many mortgages, any liens or judgments ? That sort of thing- alot of research and internet searching and technical knowledge about real estate law. I also am newly licensed to sell life insurance products in Iowa, as well as mortgages and financial services. My next goal is to be licensed in securities so I can sell investment products. Then I'll break away from abstracting and do financial work all the time. |

Wow Kate! What a wonderful job! My father in law recently passed away and although he did not have alzheimer's, he did suffer from dementia and we had a long term care giver who helped greatly in his last months -- she was truly a blessing and I know many families must feel that you are too ![]() As for my husband and I, we own a podcasting webservice www.avmypodcast.com He is the CEO and I'm the CFO -- which always makes me laugh, because we have NO employees and the business is still quite small, lol We also both have EBay stores... mine is the larger of the 2 and supplements our household income and his is smaller and his profits are his "play money" |

I am a registered nurse. I worked for about 18 years in OB. Now I work in one day surgery. I love the patients. I work with a great group of people. All of this is in a large level 1 trauma center that is constantly worried about the bottom line...the dollar. I know somebody has to do that, but I just wish the "suits" cared as much about quality patient care, or satisfied employees as much as they care about that dollar. My theory is that if you take care of those 2 things, the dollar will come to you. |

I am the Marketing Manager for a nationwide cable and satellite customer retention/collections company. In my past life I was a Marketing Manager for Apple Computer, and a well known TV Interior Decorator. I work from home now so I can be available to help take care of my mother and my four stepchildren. |

I am retired now, but I did Family Day Care in my home for about 18 years. Infants up to five at first then the last several years up to 3 years. Before that I was a Financial Secretary to the Budget Director of a Hospital. That was a lotta years ago. But I have always grown something, as long as I can remember. Linda B |

For 20 years I was a mom, wife and factory worker. We made that margarine that ''Mother Nature'' advertised..LOL I was a floating utility, so I could do all but one job in my department and also drove a fork lift. A head injury almost 17 years ago put a halt to that 'career'' . Also an end to my driving ability. I have not driven a car since because the injury effected the part of my brain that measures distance, and balance and many other things. I have worked hard over the past years to work on my short term memory and I do much better with that now as long as I FOCUS on the project at hand. The last 3 years I have been an Independent Associate for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. I also took some classes and now am also a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist. Oh goodness the stories I could tell you about identity theft and how it can devestate peoples lives. And most people are not even aware of their vulnerability or the risks that are out there. Most people think it is just financial, but there are at least 5 areas of IDT and a new one called Synthetic Identity theft. Premere Magazine Summer 2008 says we need to do these things.. 1. Shred everything! 2. Question anybody who is requesting any personally identifiable information. 3. Never give personal information over the phone. 4. Never use a check or debit card to by anything online. 5. Get a credit monitoring service. 6. Have 24 hour access to an attorney. 7. Use a true identity restoration company. I was happy to know that I was able to fullfill those last 3 things with our services for less than the cost of a bottle of water a day. I continually try to keep myself educated so I can help other people. It is always better to be prepared before an event. USA Today says identity theft will twentyfold in the next 24 months at the rate it is going. The last time I checked there had been over 223 million individuals whose non-public information has been compromised thru security breaches in the US since Jan 2005. I get kind of emotional about the company and what it means to me and how the memberships have helped me, but I won't go on and on about it. If you need information or help, just send me a PM..OR watch our tv show tomorrow morning. Drop me a line and let me know what time zone you are in and I will tell you when it will be showing. So over my lifetime I have done a variety of things, many not mentioned here, but now happy with being at home with a flexible schedule, able to care for my hubby and able to garden when I want to, not when the factory says I can have time off Dont miss that at all!
