Try sprinkling cayan pepper or jalapeno pepper flakes aroun when they smell that it should put a stop to that. and It won't hurt you plants. Sometimes orange peel works too. Let me know if it works?

I tried the hot pepper flakes and they just moved to another flower bed. Treated that flowerbed and they managed to get lid off my daughter's sandbox! I can't put red peper flakes there. I thought I may try the automatic sprinkler that is triggered by motion. It shoots a hard stream of water at the intruder, and we all know how much cats hate water! These are not even MY cats - neighbor's cats!!! I have an OUTDOOR LITTER BOX (as well as an indoor one) for MY cats, and they never go anywhere else. I asked the neighbors if they would set out an outdoor litter box, and they said, why do you think we keep them outside? We do not want to have to mess with a litterbox! Well, one day I decided to give back to the neighbors, that what belongs to the neighbors - namely their cat poop! I have a chainlink fence, to which I have attached some beautiful REED FENCING - for privacy and hopefully to discourage their cats. Cats climb the tree and drop out of the sky to come poop in MY flower beds. So, I get the poop on the trowel, and with a little flip of the wrist, over the reed fence it goes. Little did I know that was landing in the stack of resin chairs they had stacked by my fence! When I heard the girl next door screaming at her cats for pooping in the chairs, I could not help but laugh! While the landing location of the poop was purely unintentional, it certainly was effective - they put out a litter box, and all is well in Suburbia!

ROFL!! They shouldn't even be owning cats if they don't want them in the house

You can plant an herb called Rue. This safely deters cat from your yard. They do not like the plant. Surely stay away from planting catnip. Ha Ha they love that one. A strong mint or a citronella Geranium also works well. Good luck

OMG! I did not know that about rue! It's such a beautiful plant, who knew it had a Great Purpose? I mean, besides remembrance? Welcome Dega! Why not hop on over to the Introductions forum and . . . introduce! |

Thats the best remedy I have ever heard. May we not forget it. Give back what is deposited, everyone wins, even the cats. Just think an outdoor litter box. LB |
