As far as your Mums, depends how tall a variety they are. Typically 1/3 off is safe in June. I have some tall varieties (40") that I take another 1/3 off in early July to keep their height down as they flop over with top-heavy blooms and Fall rains. Hope this helps Quote \| Reply \| Report

Until I move them, then I have to wait a year!! As for clematis, rebloom depends on the variety, doesn't it? Some clematis bloom early and maybe again later, some bloom all season. I have two new ones and am waiting to see what they do. There is a site about pruning, which also depends on variety, but I've never dead-headed mine.
