I have a couple "sprouts" now. They have a long white shaft and on the top two little split leaves(itsy bitsy) . I have grown it in my window with cling wrap on top of it. Their long enough to now to where im going to have to take the "lid" off. How strong are these? Im not sure what kind of attention the babies need. Can anyone help guide me in the right direction? Please )

Take the wrap off, and don't let them dry out, but water them carefully so as not to dislodge your seedling. They should grow rather rapidly now. Once it has it's first "true" leaves, you can feed it a weak food solution. Hope this helps.

LOL Totally!!! You are my go to buddie!!! OMG you wouldnt believe how big my babies are!!! After a week or so I kinda dug to see what was going on cuz I figured I planted them too deep. Well I had but I re planted them and I have sprouts all over the place!! Some have three leaves now! Im excited! I even threw one in my outside planter just to see what happend, and even after I forgot it was there and threw some dirt around that little dude is still alive and kicking! So hopefully im this lucky when it comes to producing tomatos!! Thanks for all the assistance!

One nice thing about tomatoes, they will grow roots anywhere along the stem, so no matter how deep you plant, they will grow. (sidebar) marigolds are part of the same genus, they will also grow no matter how deep you plant, and help keep furry critters away.

Glad your babies are doing well! Keep the updates coming!

Very cool! You should be able to feed them full strength and on a regular basis now. Do you have a tomato cage or something to support them (and the tomatoes as they grow?

if nothing else, a good strong pole and a couple of knee high nylon stockings work. That's what I used the first couple of years I still did veggies. Then I found that going to Wal-mart and the garden centers at the end of the season and during the winter you can get the cages at hugh discounts. I have about 40 in different sizes and styles for different plants. I just had a "duh" moment when I saw what I wrote, and realized I should have used a completely different sent of cages for a couple of clematis that were put a little to far away from the chain link fence. Oh well, next year. Anyway..... happy gardening!
