It is early June and I'm putting in a new raised perennial bed. Is it too late to plant seeds directly in the ground? If I do will they grow very large or flower this year? I live in Central Texas and high temps are in the 90's.

The plants probably won't get very big. Plus perennials rarely flower the first year when grown from seed. You're probably better off buying a few plants for blooms this year.

That is a good question Murph. I put down seeds in my side garden late March. Some have come up, others not. I put down just this last Saturday moonflower and datura seeds. We will see what happens. I'll keep you posted. There is always hope right?

I'm still praying that some of my seeds come up, or i'm in for a re-sowing in the near future. We usually have a nice long time before it gets cold here, so I figured I'd give it a try.
