Yippee!!! The heat has my garden taking off finally and last night after work I picked 5 squash, 7 zucchini, and 3 cucumbers. Cooked beer brats and veggie kabobs on the grill and they were awesome!

I'm jealous! Mine got the dreaded "Mosiac Virus", and I had to trash everything! Starting over from scratch, now! Good for you, though! I love all those things!

Oowee! You can't beat that with a stick! I'll bet they were soooo good on the grill. I used to love squash on the grill, but we're not planting any this year.

Looks like I'll be harvesting a bumper crop from my zucchini plant.

I'd say so, Stereoman! Beautiful plant you have there.

My zucchini plant is not even close to being that big and doesn't have that much room (about about 3 square feet).

So far this week I picked a bushel and half of tomatoes, loads of squash, 4 zuchini, a dozen or so bell peppers and put 10 qts of string beans in the freezer. I don't plant small..as you can tell (the luxury of country living) I get a little carried away when planting a garden.

I think I'm going to be right behind you, Bizzybee. When I first posted I was all happy about my "little" harvest of veggies. Now I'm being overrun by squash and zucchini, particularly zucchini which I seem to be picking at the rate of 8-10 a day. Cucumbers and yellow squash aren't quite so prolific. Green beans are about ready. The tomatoes are beginning to turn, bell peppers are coming on strong, and my husband better have picked okra this morning after I left for work. I gave away a lot of zucchini over the weekend, brought 2 bags to work with me this morning and still have more left at home.

Palmetogal, this morning I'm canning tomatoes. I've got 12 qt jars in the water bathe now. I should be in there blanching squash too but I needed a little break! I love doing this but could sure use some cooler weather to do it in...thank goodness for A/C just wish I could pipe some of the cold air to the garden with me

Aw, man! I had to redo my zukes & cukes! They're barely 3 inches high! (sigh!) I'd love some squash to do on the grill, and cucumbers to go with my prolific tomatoes. I put up tomatoes this weekend, too. Pureed them with my jalepneos for making sauces, dips and soup. WheW-too hot to think of soup! Wish you guys lived on my street!
