I want to use phlox as a ground cover along the south of my house,(I bought full sun variety) but i wonder about the use of weed barrier, how would that affect the creeping? Maybe just use it laid "around" the base of the main plant till it starts to creep and chokes out the weeds on it's own? Any suggestions?

Mine has never "jumped" a barrier. As a matter of fact, I just got rid of a bunch because it wasn't "choking" out any weeds. I had to dig it to get to the weeds, but then again, I live in a "hazardous" area! CLAY!
