I live in a very poor town and i want to have a "victory" garden,I have written to anyone and everyone about getting one started and I get no response from the "higher ups". As someone said we need fresh food and if we grow it ourself we would have it. The reason I want to have this garden as I said this is a small poor town who use to have large paper mils the generation after generation worked at, now they are gone as of just a few years ago. Many live in apartments and haven't the room, i will donate my time and yard to put the garden,I just want some backing,I even have been in touch with Earthbox, they will sell me some at a discount, but no one is willing to help here in town,my neighbors are all for it and will help but no one has the money to get it started, any one have an Idea? By using the earthbox's it will make it easier for me to keep up since I am disabled. i want to help people. If i had all the donations, which i will be wroking on getting,we could sell the produce at resonable prices to our community and have that money taking care of buy the local bank, then next season we can atleast pay at discuont prices from those that help us now. Having fresh veggies and herbs will help us all the fact that we (all of us) can't afford these goodie causes stress that adds to the stress we all already have with the high prices of ever thing, causing families to suffer even more. i PLAN ON PRINTTING RECIPES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON EVEN CANNING THINGS FOR FURTHER USE. If anyone has any idea please let me know. Thankx a head of time for reading and commenting. |

Have you investigated doing some sort of fundraiser? Perhaps the local schools could help you out there, if someone has ties, or their children are still in school. Hmmmm let me think on it a bit, I'll let you know if I think of anything else. You have a great idea, I'd hate to see you have to abandon it all for the sake of a few $$! |

If your local paper has a "Letters to the Editor" section, that would be a good place to start. If not, why not contact the local paper/tv/radio station and see if they can help you get something started. Seems to work around here. |

What was that quote from the movie? If you build it, they will come. I do hope that you will be successful with this project. It's a wonderful idea. Let us know about your progress. |

Hello all, well the newest update is I found some sites from the Berlin page and found some grants and stuff. I don't know how to write grants but I just told the story and said what I needed to get started this year and with the money we make we can bank it and have it ready for next year. I WILL NOT BE TOLD NO!!! LOL ,my friends and family know that I don't know the word Cant't or NO,If I want something bad enough I will get it come hell or high water. I'm talking about important things like when we were told that my oldest granddaughter has Cerebral palsy and wouldn't walk or talk maybe at all...WELL , she walked when she was 15 months and was talking at 2. i love challanges. I guess maybe thats why I am in college at 60...because I CAN. Ok my arm is hurting from patting my self on the back LOL. have a great and safe weekend. this is a picture of Dani, she is 12 now and that is Buddy my dog whom she tortures...LOL. she has him dressed up he loves it.Janet Attachments: ![]() |
