Today was quite the busy wildlife day for me!
I was finally able to get a good picture of the goslings at the local pond. Momma in front, the 4 babies following, with Dad keeping a close watch.
Then while walking around my gardens, I noticed a dove has built her nest in one of my wisteria's. If you look really close between the 2nd and 3rd crosspieces you can sort of see her.
Finally this evening, after some pretty bad storms, the kids saw a turtle in the road. This snapper was about 8-12 inches long, and 10 inches wide. I put a 1 gal nursery pot next to it for reference. We were able to coax it into a 5 gal bucket, without losing fingers, and took it to the other little pond to release it. I didn't want to put it in the same pond as the goslings

I can't believe I missed these pictures before. You took some great shots Aurora.
The little goslings look so fuzzy soft. I missed the dove at first then I spotted her. Glad you were able to rescue the snapper and at the same time keep all your fingers...lol. They cross the road here also sometimes and we try to help them when we can.

I missed this, too! I love the pix of the goslings. What a great shot.
I hate to see turtles in my yard because I don't know what they are liable to take a bite out of. We have them all the time. I don't know what kind they are. I've got a pic. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Here she is. When I spotted her, she was ambling over to The Old Gourd Garden. Then I spied the hole that she due in the lawn. I guess she found it's tough to dig in that red clay!! I sprigged zoysia in that spot! Well, she dug the hole; why not?? Every little bit helps!

Witt- your turtle looks like a box or painted turtle. She won't bite you

Thanks for the compliments. For once the sun was cooperating when I took a pic of the geese.
