Any other ice cream freaks out there? How do you take yours?

I think ice cream is the perfect dessert. Plus it's part of the dairy group so it's a necessity.

Here's a simple and delicious sundae.

Slice half a banana. Add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream. Top with warm caramel sauce (Mrs. Richardsons if you can get it.) Top with toasted pecans--they have to be toasted so they have that slight crispness. Add whipped cream. Dig in.

Wayne is an ice cream freak. I love ice cream sandwiches and those drumsticks with the good chocolate in the bottom.

I don't like ice cream with a lot of add-ins like Rocky Road and Cookies and Cream. I mean I'd eat it, but I'd prefer a good vanilla, chocolate, or a fruit flavor.

In the Northeast there are lots of home-made ice cream parlors. Not here--we have crappy Baskin Robbins. Boy, have they gone downhill! One of my favorite double scoops growing up was lemon and blueberry. Bet most people haven't ever had lemon ice cream. Also coconut and orange-pineapple. I have made those in my ice cream freezer. I'll have to try lemon and raspberry this summer.

Ice cream--a topic I can go on and on about!

Have you ever tried/heard of Martha Stewart's one-cup peach (probably any flavor) cobbler recipe? Doubt it would qualify as Southern (not sure what you mean there).

It's something like a cup of milk, a cup of flour, a cup of sugar, a stick of butter, some nutmeg, baking powder (?) and vanilla. You melt the butter in the pan. Pour the mixture on top. Plop some peaches in here and there. Pour some peach juice on top. Bake.
