Has anyone bought trees online? Where?

I'm looking for witch hazel and I've had no luck locally although there are a few more places I need to try.

I saw some on ebay but they are 2-3ft tall. I wanted something a little bigger because they grow so slow.

If I can't find any, what would be a good alternative..something that stays small/med and has flowers. (not a redbud..everyone has one in oklahoma..i want to be different) and nothing weeping.

How big are you wanting the tree to get? How big do you want it now? Witch Hazel is a common tree in my area-I could probably find one-but how to get it to you? Depends on how big you want it at start. Crab Apples are good, Japanese Magnolia (I don't know if these are hardy in your part of the country), crepe myrtles (will get big, but can be pruned to stay smaller).????

They say that witchahzels grow slow. Mine was about 2 feet tall when I bought it 3 years ago, it's now around 5-6 feet. It gets morning sun, and is planted in very humus-rich soil
Try asking your local nurseries if they can get one for you, I have a nursery that will do that.
You can keep Crepe Myrtles pruned to stay small, and they can be grown either single or multi-stemmed. They also grow pretty fast.
Keep in mind though, that Witchhazels and Crepe Myrtles have different growing requirements- Witchhazels like part shade and rich soil, Crepe Myrtles like full sun and will grow in almost any soil.

it's going on the north side so part shade is perfect for over there. I may have to do something about the soil.

I finally found one online actually but hadn't had the time to come update here. I found some ebay and i emailed the guy asking him if he had bigger ones and he did on his website. I'm getting one in a 5 gallon deal.

He's holding off on the shipping because I'm going overseas for 2 weeks so I asked him to wait. If it turns out nice and all that, I'll tell you where I got it from!

I'm glad I found it because I really wanted something different. I almost caved though at the nursery and bought a redbud. I'm glad I didn't..lol
