Has anyone tried this stuff? They have it at my local nursery but I haven't tried it yet.

We use cackle, cackle doo. (We don't have any roosters!)

Just started using it this year on my veggie garden. Not terribly impressed so far, but could be a number of other issues this year. Seemed to burn plants a little - I think I used too much. My doggie got pretty excited though!

We had a weed ridden lawn when we purchased our fixer upper. We pulled grass with ease the first year we lived here, to install planting beds around the yard. We switched from chemical box store fertilizers to Cockadoodle Doo organic products the following year. You apply it four times per year beginning in spring. In spring you apply weed control, 60 days later you apply fertilizer, 60 days later you apply weed control again, and 60 days later (October) you apply the final application of fertilizer. We know it works because we don't have many weeds on our lawn anymore (but I am also diligent about pulling weeds, especially dandelions), but we also added more planting beds the following year after our application year, and we could no longer pull the grass by hand like we did the first year. We had to rent a tiller the grass was so strong. Stronger grass means less competition from weeds. And, I also have three small dogs, so it's nice to know I'm doing something for the environment and keeping my pets safe. We've also used Chickity Doo Doo, a competitors brand, and they all work fine but Chickity Doo Doo has a more prominent odor. Either way, you water the fertilizer into the lawn after the application, or apply just before a rain. Love this stuff. Oh, and as for the post about applying the product to the veggie garden, the weed control and fertilizer are for LAWNS only. There are other products available specifically for garden beds, but I have seen them only once in my area - hard to find.
