Deer-eaten shrubs

The deer went mad on my shrubs this winter. I plan to cut back the damaged part of the rhododendrons, fertilize, and hope for the best. The yews I'll just fertilize and hope for the best. Does anyone have advice for how to get these shrubs healthy again? The yews are part of my foundation plantings on the front of the house and they look terrible! Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

I don't know if the rhodies will get stems/leaves back on the lower section, but I'll bet they will. Rabbits decimated the lower part of a burning bush I had several years in a row and it just made the bush well, more bushy! As for the yews I"ll bet they'll get plenty of new growth after the winter 'pruning'! |
