ok im shure ive asked this before but what are the most basic of culinary herbs?? --i remember having mentioned i have some pots that i wanna get some live herbs in so my mom an uncle have fresh herbs they can use while cookin http://www.milaegers.com/mm5/PDF/berries+herbs.pdf there are only a few berries from the herbs what sounds best?? i dont see more then 7 or 8 per pot an yea oh also what brans an all mix do yall reccommend?? (im likely ta explain at millaegers an do what they suggest as i know they know this area an know what there talkin bout--an nuthin aganst any of yall) |

I'd guess thyme, rosemary, cilantro, parsley, and oregano. I think that's pretty much all you need. |

Can you live without chives? I sure can't. What's a baked potato without chives? Just sour cream and butter. |

heres what the pots have so far --this ISNT all ive got planned i jus need more pots first ok the pics are every pot in "my" group (well all filled an planted clay ones theres a clay one that has outher broken clay pot pieces in it) if you see any that say jo 08 thats just a note fer me so i know when we got them (i looked at the first pic its CLEARLY visible its ONLY the new pots that have it tho) --note everything has some mint in most are chocolate or orange ok onto whats where pic 1-- brandywine tomatoe an basils-- green ruffles tai an cinnamon pic 2-- pineapple sage pic 3-- rosemary-- upright an creeping pic 4-- lemon verabena and stevia pic 5-- showing my mints also has 2 above mentioned pots in it the low "crawling" mint is the orange the more upwright one is the chocolate pic 6-- borage pic 7-- catnip an lemon balm theres the open space fer bee balm thats planned in there pic 8-- fooled-ja jalapenos (ok NOT herbs but there mine an i LOVE them) pic 9-- mr stripey tomatoes--3x-- and many basils lets se magic michael afr blue tai cinnamon green ruffles thats it fer now i PLAN on gettin more some good pesto reciepies would be awesomeness Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Key to any cooking is some fresh herbs. Place a pot of basil, oregano, rosemary and thyme by the kitchen door and you'll have fresh herbs for cooking all summer long. |

I had not grown chives until this year. I'm loving it! Actually, I hadn't grown leeks ever either, and seldom onions. Lots of new things this year. My Beloved made a stir fry last night with our first cuttings of Thai basil. Very spicy stuff! I like! |
