I have noticed an oriole enjoying my suet feeder a couple of nights ago. What would be the best way to attract more orioles? I have seen oriole feeders online & at farm & home stores. Where is the best place to put a feeder for these birds? I have not seen them in my yard before & would really like to attract some more. They are beautiful!

I have one of the 3 in 1 feeders in my backyard for the Orioles. It holds oranges, nectar like for hummingbirds and grape jelly. I bought one because the orioles were trying to drink from my hummingbird feeder. I make my own nectar but the orioles ignore the orange and the nectar and go CRAZY for the grape jelly. In fact I bought Welch's grape jam because it was on sale and now I have 3 orioles fighting over the feeder. They absolutely love the jam. Try grape jelly or jam-it really attracts them.

I have heard about using grape jam for the Orioles but how do you keep the ants from devouring it?

Thank you! I did purchase a 3 in 1 feeder just yesterday. I filled it with grape jelly, homemade nectar & half an orange. I hung it on a hook on the back deck next to the suet that they were eating. I came home from work & nearly all the jelly was gone & most of the orange. I spent about 15 minutes just watching as 2 came to eat & protect their feeding territiory. They chased away a hummingbird & a woodpecker. I may get another one & place it in another area of the yard since they don't seem to like to share very well.

A lot of the oriole feeders have an ant moat in the center of the feeder. Just make sure there is water in the moat & I've been told it helps to control the ants.
