I picked this up at Meijers for $7.99. It says its a Parade Rose. I couldn't get a good picture of it, but it says it can be planted in a container. Do they do good in containers or should I just plant it in the garden. Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

you can do it in a container, just remember it will need to be watered and fed more often, and will have to be put in a protected location come winter. Give it a good soil blend and enjoy. Sass |

I have 6 in containers and they are doing wonderful. Sass is correct about protecting them come winter. I lost a few last year

If you keep them in containers, a rose cone won't help. it will need to be brought into a garage, or basement. In the ground, a rose cone keeps the top portion of the rose and the bud union covered, the roots are protected by the earth. In a container, the roots are not protected. You have the entire area of the container is exposed and much less soil for protection. If the soil freezes, so do the roots, the plant dies. Hope this helps. Sass |

I place my roses and other tenders under my gazebo in winter and they do well (my impatiens survived that way too). We only get close to freezing here, and rarely dip below that. |

Maybe I'll just put it into the ground, the container I had in mind would be to heavy to move. We had frost in low lying areas and on our windshields this am so I want to hold off for a bit before planting outside. We usually try to plant our tomato garden around Memorial Day, but we seem to be having temps 20f below normal right now
