Very nice. Do the pink and white Mexican Evening Primrose open at different times of the day? |

Thank you Told2b. Actually, the primrose are all white- the fade to pink as they age. I'm not sure why they are called "evening" as they are open no matter the time of day. They love to spread, I must've pulled tons of them earlier this spring. |

Beautiful Wisteria on your arbor, Aurora! I don't think I've seen any like that...the blooms look round. I used to have Mexican Evening Primrose. Lovely display...until I experienced how much it spreads...where you don't want it! It's gone now.

Thanks rosemarie. My wisteria is the native "frutescens" It's not nearly as aggressive as the asian types, and has smaller flower clusters. It will also produce up to 3 more "waves" of blooms through the summer, although they are not as abundant as the one in spring, maybe because of the Japanese Beetles I'm thinking of trying to relocate the primroses to the bank leading down to the drainage ditch- they can grow wherever they want there . It's impossible to mow, and my hubby has asked me to find something to cover it with.

Everything is beautiful, Aurora! I have that primrose too, and it sure does spread. I put them everywhere, though, because you can yank them all up and still have plenty next spring. I started out with only one. Now I have loads and loads. Everyone wants one so I can give plenty away, but I give them fair warning first. |

Thank You All! Witt- I started off with a 4 inch pot of the primrose 4 years ago. I am always pulling them up, but as you said- they come back stronger than ever. The wisterias (I have 2) are my favorite spring flower. Mine bloom about 3 weeks later than the wild ones growing all over though. I don't do anything with them other than occasionally pruning a wayward tendril. |
