Hi, I started a garden a few months ago that consists of several citrus trees, two mango trees, vegetables, and herbs. I want to know how I can continue my garden for years to come by extracting and planting their seeds. Specifically, the tomato and cilantro tree, but a general how-to guide would be appreciated.

I have tried picking the seeds off the dried flowers of the cilantro tree and planting them, but have had no luck. Should I do something first?

If you have cilantro that grew into a tree, please send me a cutting! Seriously, cilantro is an herb, also called coriander, and I believe it is an annual. You must be mistaken about the kind of tree you have. You might want to post a picture of it in the plant id section....

I do indeed have a cilantro plant, although by the size of the thing, you might as well call it a tree! At one point it seemed to be growing completely out of control. I reposted the question in the herb section and received an answer to the seed question.

As you can already tell, I'm a beginning gardener with ALOT to learn. When you say Cilantro(or any plant for that matter) By annual, do you mean it produces all year long? If so, for how many years?
I assumed that the plant would soon dry out and I would have to replace...

As for tomato. I removed the seeds from a tomato, washed them thoroughly, and then used a paper towel to remove the surrounding goo(for lack of a better word) from the seeds. I then stored half in an envelope and planted the rest in pots. Hopefully, I'm on the right path.
