I am trying to grow coriander/cilantro using miracle grow potting soil. It's not growing. Should I just plant them in clay?

If you're using that new Miracle-Gro soil, nothing grows in that. I heard nothing but woes about it.
My cilantro/coriander is growing in the cracks of my patio like crazy. That's nothing but clay. I even rescued a bunch that came up in the yard--again clay, and moved them to a new bed, mostly clay. They're doing great. All of them are in flower now. Next will come the seed gathering. It's too hot for them now (at least in my area). Sow another crop in late summer for fall. I just throw the seeds on the ground. I guess you could scratch them in, but it seems that I couldn't stop them from growing if I wanted to.

When did you plant them? Mine grow just by falling into dirt. They may have not yet germinated yet
