We have been noticing a strange substance appearing in our beds. Each spot it has happened there is a tree. The trees are different types though. Coming from the ground is a very yellow oozing matter. It builds up in a pile that then dries out and looks like a sponge. When it is wet it looks almost like a sap. What could this be? |

This is a forum of 'slime mold' growing on the natural mulch under your trees. they are a natural organism doing their important natural duty of breaking down un-decomposed plant material. Sort of looks like an elephant threw up on the ground. It is not a pleasant looking piece of glob. So that mold is good? I get that too. I ususally leave it because it does dry up and it is so disgusting I do not want anyone touching it. |

It looks like something Toby'd leave in the garden after eating grass.
