Hello! I think this is a boxwood bush, however in the last 2 weeks it has quickly turned yellow. Is it diseased? Can it be helped? It was a really rough winter here so I'm wondering if that is the cause. Excuse the black wire, I'm re-doing our landscape lights Thank you! Kelly Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks a bit like the cold/frost got to it this year. Let it go for now and wait until you get really good weather. It might be possible to trim it up some to make it look better. Of course if it continues to brown out, the cold may have killed it. Good Luck. LB |

Thanks LB! I am really upset because I love boxwoods and it's the only one I have here. Hopefully I can save it. Thanks! Kelly |

If it is a true boxwood, you ought to be able to cut it way back and it will releaf with fresh growth. Good luck. |

This is typical winter die back for boxwoods. If this is an established plant that has been in the ground for a few seasons, it should come out of it as the weather warms up and new growth commences. Most of those those brown leaves will fall off on their own or you could pick them or clip them off. If it was a fairly new planting and the roots were not settled in long enough, the harsh winter weather might have killed the whole plant. You'll know if when the weather warms up you don't get any new growth in a month. |
