My camellia japonica's leaves have turned a choclatey brown on a lime green/yellow base. It is a recently aquired large pot specimen that was, in the nursery's words, overdue for a re-pot. On arrival the leaves were OK apart from a few frosted tips. It is now in our fairly heavy clay soil. I know about chlorosis and root rot - but the experts only ever mention leaf yellowing; these are definitley brown - not scorched, by the way, the leaves are still glossy, not dried out. The colouration is within the body of the leaf, not quite to the margins - the veining is the same lime green/yellow.The affected leaves are all round the bush, not just on the windward side. Any ideas?
