The first plant is one of several that have seeded along the driveway. They have clusters of tiny white flowers. Is this something I want, or is it a weed? The flowers are not really open yet, so I thought I would ask in case I need to strike soon! The second photo is something I know is a weed. They crawl around pretty quickly on runners all over the place. What the heck is this thing invading my garden? Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

I don't recognize either one of them, but they do look like weeds to me. |

That second one is a dead ringer for ranunculus aka "buttercups". Great groundcover, very uniform and low-growing, cute yellow flowers. Terribly invasive! Go ahead, pull it up. Five more will sprout from the broken roots! |

Lol. I believe you Stereoman! That is exactly what I am experiencing! I am pulling, and pulling and pulling! They even trail over the mulch without seeming to need to set in! I saw at the end of last year, they grow very tall and flower in the fall. The flower is not anything nice though. I think they are these anyway, I could be wrong. The cluster of little white flowers on the other plant looks like they might be nice once they get going though! Attachments: ![]() |

I have the ones in the last picture growing all over. Not a clue what they are, but they do "bloom" in the fall. Impossible to pull out too

The pretty white one looks like what grows up in northern B.C. and ALBERTA and is referred to as stink weed-and like all weeds-multiplies like crazy. The true test is to smell your hands after pulling one. If you don't pull them b4 they go to seed you"ll have little white weeds everywhere. |
