I would like to plant a flowering vine which will grow in partial shade. I have started Morning Glory seeds, but I am fearful they will die. Any suggestions as to a partial shade vine (shade in the am) which will grow at the Jersey Shore? Thanks

Welcome, vinca! Shade vines ~ clematis and climbing hydrangea. Either one is good for your zone. A morning glory may grow ok in shade but it probably won't flower much.
Ooops ~ I'm an idiot-a ...... neither one that I mentioned is an annual. Look what I get for trying to pretend I'm smart
Ok ~ annual vines is what you're after. For shade ~ I'll have to think about that one .......

Here's a few ideas! Morning glory vines, black-eyed Susan vines, mandevilla, canary creeper, nasturtium and scarlet runner bean. I grew morning glories this past summer and found them to be very hardy! They got a lot of afternoon shade and I generally had daily blooms of 100 or more! I also had sweet pea vines that did very well with afternoon shade. (I'm in Northern NY zone 4. Good luck!
