I am looking for hanging plants that have pretty blooms and drape down when they grow (like ivy) any suggestions?

For a container? We have a container gardening forum here and I remember a discussion about trailing plants.

Here it is.

One word: Nasturtiums. They're EASY to grow from seed, they're COMPLETELY edible, and they flower gloriously in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, white or pink.

Trailing geraniums are good (I think they stink, but they're pretty), wave petunias, bouganvilla (thorns)

I definitely go for petunias or Calibrachoa. The superbells calibrachoa from Proven Winners did very well for me last year and Proven Winners supertunias did extremely well too. If you want some nice foliage in with them, sweet potato vine is a nice lime green--a good contrast for dark pink flowers
