I am completely green at gardening and have no idea where to start. I have a 5x9 foot terrace on a high floor facing South (open East, South and West), with another terrace overhead but lots of sun (and wind). I would like to maintain the area in the center for a small table and chairs, but need to warm up the area with some plants/shrubs/flowers around the edges that can survive 30th floor wind and sun. I would love some advice! |

I saw a program on the Victory Garden last year where they landscaped a windy city high-rise. All I remember about it is they used pots of evergreens and a Goldflame honeysuckle in a trellised pot. I remember that because I have a Goldflame and I was checking out the flower, since mine was new and hadn't bloomed yet. |

Thank you! I will do some research on those plants, and see if that program might be available on DVD. That would be perfect. I appreciate your help. |

Hello, I saw your post from 2008 wondering about gardening on a windy, high-rise terrace. I am facing the same dilemma, and am wondering how you solved it? - Wendy B., NYC |
