I've already made a few posts, but I haven't formally introduced myself. I guess I got too excited about finding out the name of a shrub that I was highly interested in. Then I remembered to put in my profile.
I noticed all the color that I have in the gardens while I was clearing up some winter debris.

March 28, 2008

My garden has the blues.
Agapanthus has unfurled her stately blue while pagodas of ajuga are popping everywhere.
Rosemary is bespeckled in her polka dot dress blues and Vernoica is wearing her best.
Grape hyacinth spikes fill in spaces and anemone waves in the breeze.
Is blue all there is? Not at all. Yellow daffodils still prevail under fountains of forsythia and spicy Carolina jasmine climb the shed. Dogwoods peeping out for the spring cast a pale yellow shade.
Upon closer inspection invasive oxalis has bloomed her pink. I don't mind at all. Thrift carpets the ground under pendulous red berries still hanging on the nandina. Snowflakes shine white with their God's spots of green. Peach blossoms nestle in burgeoning leaves. My mouth waters at the thought. Peppermint-striped camellias hide in their glossy nest.
Everything is starting to wake. What color should I paint the songs of the birds?

Wow, Witt, welcome and I enjoy your writings. Is writing your profession?

I wouldn't call it a profession, but I do some writing. If you go to my profile, you can read a little bit more about me.
Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to GG from WI, witt! I very much enjoyed reading your post, and was also impressed by your skill with words. GG is definitely going to benefit from having you as a member, thank you!

PS You painted an incredible picture of words, loved re-reading it, imagining that scene outside my window. Not too much out there at the moment!

Thanks for the welcome, mbvirtue. It does look bleak there in Wisconsin. I'm sure that it won't be long before things begin to green up for you.

Come on down, lprinaz. This is just the teaser. Things will really be bursting out in a few weeks. That is if it ever warms up again. It will only be in the 40's today. Thank you for your kind comment.

Cleverr, stereomann! I'mm gladd thatt youu enjjoyedd itt! Boy, will this comment drive the spellchecker crazy!

Thank you, Linda. I appreciate it.

Maybe you and I can communicate well in our Southern accents, Bill. I won't be doing too much gardening today. It's drizzly and dreary and too cool. Not my kind of day.
