My neighbor has a beautiful colored azalea. It is a bright red color. Mine are all pink. I would like to know if I get a branch cutting from his azalea how do I go about getting it to root? Thanks. |

Azaleas root very easily. Just take your cuttings and place them in a pot or in the ground. It might take a while so if you are placing them in the ground put them somewhere you can just ignore them a bit. And a shady spot is best, you don't want them to get too dry. A friend of mine roots them in pots of sand. I will be taking cuttings for friends of mine after they finish blooming. Good Luck, Linda B |

Oh, I just saw this. My girlfriend has a beautiful red one. As soon as it finishes blooming, I'm going over there and get some cuttings. My one and only azalea is pink. |

I had never thought of rooting azaleas--I have some beautiful red ones that are getting croded out by ferns in the back yard--I think I will plant some cuttings so I can put some in the front yard. |
