I planted 10 lilac bushes 4 years ago, they were all about 2ft tall, they are in full sun. I have never trimmed them. They are only about 4ft tall now, which is ok, but I have never had a bloom. Please help.

Mine took about that long to get established then I add some of those fertilizer spikes for trees and year 5 they were full of blooms. They don't like being meved and will protest by holding back for a few years. But after that they should do great.

I also sprinkle bone meal and my fire pit ashes on mine twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall). This is a LONG term feeding program. NOT a quick fix feeding. Use the tree spikes for that.

I heard the old bloom need to be trimmed to allow for new growth....
I have a question about mine, too.
