Are they Mountain Lily..... Ixiolirion tataricum?
What does the rest of the plant/leaves look like?

How funny, just this week I saw this same plant on a walk and wondered what type of plant it was.

Eagles, could you show us what the rest of the plant looks like? I'm much better at this if I can "see" the whole plant with leaves...
Thanks!

Ok, all the green shoots to the left are narcissus that are done blooming. If you look carefully, you can tell the unidentified flower has leaves like agapanthus (not narcisscus) and like amaryllis. Does this make sense?
again Thank you....

OK, sorry it took all weekend, and then some, to come up with what I think you have in your garden...but this picture's not labeled, so I still don't know what it is. Does this look like yours?

Came from this site, found it by searching for "flowers in San Diego".

www.bravid.tripod.com/galeryflowers00.html -- it's in the center of the second row.

It's the closest I've found, seems to have the right foliage, slightly different flower composition but similar. As far as what it is, maybe contact the site directly and see where the pic was taken? Sorry I can't help better, it's gonna bug me, such a beautiful flower and no identity...

That's agapanthus--commonly called lily-of-the-nile.
