Hey everyone!

I have always enjoyed making my childrens' birthday cakes myself. My daughter is fixin to turn 11-years-old and I need some inspiration for her cake. I have made flower cakes, rainbow cakes, butterfly cakes, snake cakes, Shrek cakes, Winnie the Pooh cakes, football cakes, and many more. Now I need an original idea for this one. It is right before Easter but I don't want to use that theme as I will already be making Easter egg cakes. Anyone have any ideas they could share? I'm no professional so please keep it simple.

Thanks!

I'm sure AngelsGarden will have a few ideas, she's shared pics on GG of her beautiful cakes.

Hmm, maybe something she's particularly interested in?

She is all about High School Musical and Hannah Montana right now, of course!

I'm about sick of them myself (between three daughters) but ya'll just inspired me to maybe do a Hannah Montana guitar cake or sumthin like that. Whatdaya think?

even i would like anm awesome hannah guitar cake pics peas maby if you looked up the hannah montannah logo youd find one on a guitar ya could use wait what if you did the logo on the strings (general area) then "drew" hannah and mieley on each side of it on the body maby a hm logo on the head

I like that color combination for sure. I don't know much about HM other than who she is. Maybe you could make it like stage set or something like that and add little doll characters.
I know Wilton used to make a guitar cakepan. Maybe you could adapt the shape from a photo of that. The fretboard was plastic and laid on the neck, but you could do that out of cardboard if you wanted to and add piped icing frets or strings. Maybe gumdrops for the tuning pegs. Cinnamon dots for on the bridge at the bottom.

I did a castle cake for one of my boys' birthday one year and put Lego men and dragons all around it.
