] Does anyone have an idea on getting rid of sparrows . I have taken down the houses and feeders. They are so bad they chase out all the other birds. They even attacked a hugh wood pecker drinking out of my pond. He has stayed around all winter. They dive bombed a squirrel yesterday. Last summer I did not have as many robins, I am sure they were the reason. They are horrible nasty critters. [/color]

WOW those squirrel must be on steroids!

Mine are really pesky but not as bad as the ones you have. Hope you find some way to control them. Is it legal to trap them in your community? Try calling your local animal control and see what they say. Linda B

YG, you're right, squirrels can be kinda pushy. In fact in England they're hunting down the american grey squirrel because they're too much competion for the English red squirrel.
I think Kerry was talking about sparrowstho And yes Kerry sparrows are not facing many survival problems.

I have to agree. I have lots of sparrows and they are not aggressive at all. If the are english house sparrows they are not a native song bird and are considered a pest and may be "taken" at any time. The aggressiveness sounds like the way a mockingbird even but there wouldn't be a lot of them just 1 or 2 and much bigger.
