I`ve always wanted a greenhouse and this year for Christmas, I got one. It`s not a big one but intend to put it to LOTS of use!! Attachments: ![]() |

Congratulations! I"ve had that type of greenhouse and it was a huge help getting seedlings going and hardened off. I loved it, but when we moved last spring, we retired it to the dumpster. One word of advice about using it. Weight it down well, or put it in a protected area, because spring winds can do it serious damage. One year, a windstorm blew mine over, even though I had it buttressed with all kinds of heavy stuff. There were young broken plants all over theplace -- wahhhhh! I finally worked out a system for staking it, almost like you would stake a tree, but that involved poking holes in the plastic cover. |

I have one of those, and a smaller two shelf unit. I have used them both extensively. I just set the taller one up in the basement today. I too, learned the hard way, that they have to be secured outside. I had several flats of Petunia starts get "scrambled" when the thing blew over. I saved most all of the plants, but had to wait until they bloomed to tell who was who.
