Since we have had plenty of rain lately, this moss is nice and green. It also seems to be blooming...at least thats what it looks like.

That is quite a leafy moss! They don't grow it like that in Oreygone!

oooo i like it! Real pretty. Grows real fast too doesn't it? I remember seeing it either in your blog or album. It was pretty tiny when I last saw it.

Hope you update us with photos.

I don't have any idea what kind it is. Its growing in a patch of dirt on the shady side of the house. We moved the cement slab (for the A/C unit) last year, about 10inches. The moss has been really swamped the last 4 or 5 days from all of the rain we have been getting. I wonder if it will still be alive when the area dries out a little.

Rashell, I don't think I have pics of this in my blog or album. This one is growing wild. The other pic I have is a different kind in a pot that I picked up at the garden store. The one in the pot is growing really well, almost looks like it needs a haircut.

Yikes! I must of seen a similar plant somewhere else then. Yours is a physcomitrium moss. I hope. Just read, it likes damp areas and shade.

I know the moss that grows wild under my trees might get a little brown looking in the really hot months of summer so I just give it a quick spray of water occasionally. It's never disappearred totally though. I've seen it get a few spikey things on it, but not like that.
