Bought this cacti/succulent garden the other day, loved the red ball on one of the cacti. The cactus & the succulent in the front I think I know, maybe a mammilaria & an echeveria, but the two at the back are a mystery to me. The succulent is a lovely bright green & the cactus has that eye-catching red ball with other small balls popping out. It sits on a triangular dark green cactus stem. Has tiny thorns which aren't too sharp. Any ideas, please??

Check out the Gymnocalycium genus for the two cactus. Red may be the "Ruby Ball/ Moon Cactus (Gymnocalysium mihanovichii 'Hibotan'). The pic I saw looks like yours at least.

It certainly is, Rachel. Thanks. Am not too familiar with them but have seen them mentioned often. Rather like their alternative names of dollar plant, friendship plant or money plant or tree. Many thanks again . Joy

Thanks Rashell. Checked it out & found that the gymnocalycium mihanovichii is the red ball which is grafted on to a hylocereus, the triangular green stem & this can be short-lived.Aaaaaaaarrrrrrggghhhhh They suggested regrafting it . Would not even know where to start with that little project . Many thanks Rashell . Joy
