Hi, I just joined the garden guides thanks to my good garden friend Andrea. I just got a 6 X 8ft greenhouse and am ready to start seeds. Any advice please let me know. Going to the PNW Garden Show in February can't wait. I live in Corvallis Or the gardening here is wonderful. I love the tropical look am getting addicted to bananas, honey bush, hisbicus etc. Can't wait to see everyone's garden pictures. |

WoooHoo, my sweet friend is here! Just so you all know, Chris is an amazing gardener. We met years ago when our oldest girls played soccer together. The first day I dropped her daughter off from soccer I was entralled with her garden and noticed a beautiful astilibe, I promply asked her daughter "does your mom share her plants?". That started a beautiful friendship, we have traveled all over for plants, nurseries and the PNW garden show. Welcome Chris!!!! Chris is also a master gardener and has an amazing family-great great gal! Check out their family artwork-huge mosaic, absolutely stunning. I believe I am sounding biased, but I know you will all love Chris as much I do ~Andrea |

And she does really cool mosaics! I love the one on the house foundation--great idea! Welcome to GG, Chris! I'm up here outside of Portland waiting for the big freeze tonight. My bulbs have started to poke out of the ground so I hope they'll survive. Got any questions, please ask--there are plenty of people here willing to help! |

Hello Chris & a big welcome to GG from the shores of Lake Greenwood. Those are stunning pics of your mosaic art, beautiful work. I am going to take a basic mosaic class at Lander University late March thru early April. I thought that it would help the winter blues & expand on tiling creativity. All the crafts that I do have been self taught & research. I like to create my own designs whether it's woodworking, sewing, making wreaths & other things from the nature that I have preserved, or tiling. I tiled my daughter's fireplace & the entry of the front door to the carpet. My first huge project but it turned out really well. Of course, my yard & garden are my first passions. When it's warm enough to work in the yard, that's where I'll be from sun up to sun down. I guess that only another gardener could relate to that passion of yard work. Keep those hands dirty & minds creative, gimlet from the shores of Lake Greenwood |

Welcome to GG from WI, mosaic! Those pictures are beautiful, and really make use of an area we all look at and think "how plain, wish there were something to do with that!" Great idea. Thanks for joining us, feel free to dig around a bit, can't wait to see what starts up in that greenhouse...

Hi, it was 22 here last night in Corvallis,Brrr. But the sunshine was so nice yesterday and it looks like it is going to be a great day today also. What are your favorite nurseries in the Portland area? I have only been in Corvallis a little over 3 years and am still finding neat nurseries. Let me know. Your pictures of your flower garden is beautiful. Chris |
