Yup, very exciting to have new babies. Some of the eggplant babies are up today. Since the girls have been home sick, we sat down yesterday and did a couple more trays. We finished off the Pink Wave Petunia seed and did some Coleus. I love both of those and the girls have fun dropping the seeds into the little pots.

Well guys, my greenhouse/terranium did great! Last year I planted a lot of freesias but had a few bulbs left. I noticed the freesia I planted were growing but my bulbs just sitting there strairing at me! Yes they did stare! One of my secret plants...

So I put the bulbs in the cups and forced them to grow to the same height as the other bulbs planted last year. Then I planted them in my giant pot which holds a Rose (climber). Can't wait to be able to post the picture of the them.

Told you all I'll let you know what they are...if I saw leaves.

PS. Angelsgarden how is everyone in your family doing (flu)? Are you all better now?

We are all much improved, thanks for asking. We all still have a little cough and could use a little more energy, but who couldn't, lol.

I used the same method--with the bag--for some coleus and Wave petunia seed. The coleus came up pretty quickly, but the petunias took almost a week longer. And the petunia seedings are soooooo very tiny! I didn't expect them to be that small. The bag is great for maintaining the moisture levels. I haven't had to water my trays nearly as often this year. Seems like a pretty effective method.

Same here, i think I only watered 2 or 3 times. Wish I kept track of that too but really it was a little bit.

PS. sending some energy your way whooooshhhhhhhh ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I took these pictures today.

First pic: I planted the bulbs in the pot on November 2, 07
Second pic: Are the ones from the bag. Jan 20, o8 I planted them.
Third pic: I planted in pot Feb. 06, 08

I don't know if you can tell the difference but the ones I forced to grow in the bag look healthier. Also,I planted the forced bulbs when the height was the same height as my Nov 2nd batch.

I use the cake containers from Wal-Mart cakes. They have black bases and clear dome tops. They work great. I also have some of the glass domes from cheese boards that I use as cloiches outside too.
