This is such a cool idea! I am always looking to recycle things into my seed starting, I cant believe I missed this! I have several of these in various sizes, including a very large under bed bag- maybe this could be converted into a cold frame of sorts? (Its 11 inches high and 22 X 48 )

Basically Rashell made a terrarium. Looks Great!

Rashell, remember to open the cover to ventilate after the seeds germinate, and to close it at night to keep the seedlings warm. The extra moisture can make the seedlings rot if you do not ventilate it.

Oh yeah a Terrarium! Thanks for the info. Tam-Tam! I'll do that.

I already see the head of one of my seeds sticking out. I think it's the carrot. I labeled my seeds at first but when I moved the whole thing around so many times...I can't tell which is the carrot and which one is the chives. I'm sure I'll figure it out soon as I see more of the leaves. Don't laugh sweetle!

I have another problem...The tape I used to seal the zipper is not working that great. Any suggestions guys?

Can't tell carrots from chives? giggles....

I grew garlic chives a few years ago. I hear the regular chives are invasive. Are you potting them?

The apple is still there. Forgot to put it back in the bag before I started to take pictures.

& Yep I'm using pots for the chives.

What kind of tape are you using? When I want an air-tight seal on plastic I use box tape. The thin brown plastic type. It sticks to almost everything, including itself. It would probably be wide enough to seal the zipper, and stick to the plastic on either side, making a pretty tight seal.

Oh I know what you are talking about lilmac...I think i have some, I'll try it out! Thanks!

I was using the regular clear tape so I will be able to take it off easier but the tape you're talking about will come off easy too. I think.

Rashell you could always use 100 mile an hour tape.

The 100 mile tape is duct tape right? When lilmac said it stuck to itself I figured it is duct tape? that's what I'm gonna use if I ever find it in the messy shop! I think there are different types if I remember correctly. real sticky kind and not so sticky? Anyway, I'll see what I have a try it out. I'm sure it will work better than the clear tape. Unless, the sticky stuff ruins the zipper. But, that's ok too 'cause I have another bag.
