But it's a tiny one for my seeds. & it might keep the flies away too! The support walls (clothing hangers) have to be adjusted a little (i'll do that tomorrow). The walls?...Plastic Bag for blankets and extra stuff. I'll have to move it though...doesn't look too great in the kitchen. Will it work? Let me know if it wont or what you think. thanksi wont say what's in the cups this time until i see new leaves! & that's that! One of those sticks in one of those cups already grew roots. that's all i'm saying. So there! Attachments: ![]() |

Did you stick a piece of parsley in there to fool us? I have some of those bags. I'll be interested in seeing if it works! Miss Ingenious! |

That actually is a great use for those bags. I only have about 20 of them in my closet.

From my short experience as long as there is enough moisture inside the bag to maintain high humidity then by all means it should work. Smart Lady. John |

I will be interested to see how this works as I also have a few of those bags. And it will soon be time to start seeds. Linda B |

Thank you! I have lots & lots of extra seeds if it doesn't work. the zipper part is bringing in a little air but I think it will be ok. We will see.The side by the window is already all dewey!...moist. : ) I think I'll keep it in the kitchen for a while. It's not bothering me & no one but a zillion people on line will see it anyway. Something like this should work outside huh? Maybe, to protect plants from wind? Guess I'll have to try that too. I should have patent this before I posted the picture! just kidding.

I had a crazy thought! Not that I ever have any other kind of thought, just saying. Anyway, I rushed over here to post it. heehee weird one of course. Ronsgarden said this: "I'll try to trigger the blooming cycle in May using a ripe apple. The apple gives off ethylene gas which will trigger the plant to send up a flower stalk. This trick works on all bromiliads." http://my.gardenguides.com/forums/topic/31267 I wonder what would happen with the seeds if i put an apple in my greenhouse?heehee, I'm gonna try it. anyway, I planted my seeds (other than carrots) too early...I can always start over at the right time. Okay so I was bored again! Just go along with me on this ok.

Update: as I said before the side facing the window is keeping the moister but all other sides no. I'm gonna seal most of the zipper hopefully this will create more moister in the bag. Any suggestion would be welcomed. Till then I'll keep testing things out. EDIT: Final update till I see leaves. I switched the hangers with 1x1x(whatever the height of the bag is) wood. The square holds up the bag better. The sticks keep on falling on my plants/seeds when I open the bag. So, I'll have to get a thin piece of flat wood, the length/width of bottom of the bag. I'll nail the 1x1x to the flat wood so they don't fall. I'll either put the flat sheet inside the bag (woo might rot/get wet so I doubt I'll do this) or under the bag. Basically build a small table. Anyway, I'll take a picture once i'm done. I really think this will work it's real warm in the bag. keeping fingures crossed. |

The New & Improved Greenhouse! Hubby suggested I use tieups (?) instead of doing what I said above. He was right It is neater and prettier this way. I did not trim the tieups so all can see them. Now, all I have to do is sit back and wait for the seeds/plants to do what they are suppose to do. PS. just so there are no misunderstandings...I think what I'M going to do with the apple is weird not what Ronsgarden is going to do. K...here it is :
