I have been growing elephant ears for a couple of years and just stumbled on to this new one. It is the malanga. I want to grow the one I have started to the size of this photo.

No Ron I have not tryed ginger but you can bet I will now. I dont know if you have seen the photos of my EE's which I have grown to 9ft tall and 4and 1/2 ft leaves. I use a lot of horse manure and shredded oak leaves and then of course lots of water. I have been so bored this winter because I couldn't be in my shop. I am looking for something to grow in the house.

John, looks like you are feeling much better these days. All this posting and dreaming and trying to start new plants. Gardening is a good healer. Linda B

yardgranny6, I have sat myself down and had a good talk. I will live to grow the seeds and plants that have been supplied to me, if I didnt, what a waste.

Have you ever tried gunnera, John? That's popular up here. It likes moist soil--I can't remember if you have a natural pond.
