I've heard that garlic at the supermarket gets bleached to look cleaner/whiter - is this true? ![]() The organic garlic I buy is purple.. I'm confused about the colors of garlic now.. please share all your garlic growing experiences !

I have had garlic growing in my garden for a couple of years, and it is all white. I dont know what kind of garlic is purple. John |

I've grown both, still do. But don't ask me the name of the purple kind I have. Some are even hot (as in spicey). I got my start from http://thegarlicstore.com/index.cgi/INDEX.HTML an trading with other garlic lovers online. |

Wow.. there are so many varieties to choose from on that website! In Australia we have very little choice. I'm drooling!
