Well, after our little January warm up, we are slipping back into the 30's. The ground is bare and soft. They are predicting another snowstorm starting tomorrow. We are on the rain/snow edge of this, it will be interesting to see how it goes.

We have had the temperatures go from a low of 9 degrees to a high of 73 in one week's time.

I think today's high was in the 60's with 2 tornadoes touching down in our county four miles from where I teach but no damage as far as I know. It's a challenge to keep 1700 teenagers on their knees with heads down for over 30 minutes, but that's what we had to do. I felt bad for them. I know it must have hurt.

A tornado touched down in Vancouver WA, which is across the Columbia River from Portland. There was lots of damage--roofs torn off, trees uprooted-- but no injuries.

I just saw that on TV! Didn't know it was so close to Portland. Were you under a watch or warning today, Sweetle?

Not that I know of. The last tornado was in 1972 according to the weather reporter.

Ron
Our snow is almost gone, in the 50's and 60's this week. Rain coming tomorrow then a nor'easter for Monday, plowable snow. Saw my first Robin today in the back yard, the snow has all melted and there is grass showing and there was a couple of them.

Mainegal, that was the first I had heard of snow forecast for Monday. We are getting some too. My kids will be happy. They are bummed that most of the snow has melted from the warm weather we had.
