Park Seed or Wayside Gardens

Has anyone ever had any problems ordering from Park Seed or Wayside Gardens? I ordered a climbing shell plant (2 actually), a foxglove and a blueberry plant. I was overcharged 3 times and the plants were in HORRIBLE condition when they FINALLY got to me. I was so dissapointed I dont thin I will order from them again. Actually I ordered all the plants from Park seed but got the blueberry plant from Wayside gardens for some reason. Let me tell you I have never had such a dissapointing experience. The shell plant didnt come to me untill August, after I complained about it. Is it just me or has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance. |

I found a website that reviews mail order businesses and Park Seed (sister company Wayside Garden) got over 300 positive reviews and 144 negatives. Their customer service rep responded to the negatives. His e-mail is JJohnson@parkseed.com. |

Park and Wayside are owned by the same people. I have never had any bad experiences with them. They always ship plants when the planting time is correct for your zone, so sometimes plants that you order are held until the proper time. If I were you I would make sure my concerns were addressed until I was satisfied. This is not the norm for Park Seed. |

2 years in a row my Mom sent me gift plants from Wayside Gardens, they arrived at the correct time and dormant, neither of them came up. One of the shipments were Asters, I knew immediately something was wrong, the roots were slimy, the "skin" just came right off. I told my Mom to call them right away and get a refund. They told her that is normal they spray them with "something". And not to worry they will be all right. Well I planted them knowing they were rotten, and I was right they never came up. Then when my Mom called them back again, they would not give her a refund. I nor my Mom will ever order from them again. |
