I made a double batch of the stuff yesterday and it tastes great. I used skimmed chicken broth, leftover ham, with a couple onions, and some carrots I had in the freezer. I looked in several cookbooks and couldn't find anything about freezing it, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking it might make the beans toughen. I'm probably just getting my thoughts crossed with something else because chili with beans doesn't get that way. If anyone can verify either way I'd appreciate it. We all had seconds and I have 3 very tall peanut butter jars full of leftovers.

Thanks!

Did you only put 15 beans in the soup or you found 15 different types of bean? That's a lot of beans!

Here's a St. Paddy's Day joke an Irish friend told me in her brogue.

Do you know why the Irish call it 239 bean soup?

No, why?

Because if it had one more bean it'd be too farty. (240)
