I'm a college student and would like to try my hand at composting. I live in a house with a backyard, so space is there, as long as nothing is permanent (rental!). But as a college student, money is definitely a factor. Any advice on getting started composting, and doing so cheaply? Angela |

Hello! Since you live in a rental and don't want a permanent structure, may I suggest getting a large plastic garbage can with lid to use as your compost container.(black if you can find one, but dark brown or green will work too. Try to avoid light colored plastic)You can drill a few holes in the sides for air circulation. If you are responsible for cutting the lawn, add your grass clippings, and save your kitchen VEGETABLE scraps. You can also add pulled weeds. |
