When searching for photos of plants on the web to post in the Mystery Plant thread, be careful that they are not copyright. If the pic is copyright you need to give the owner credit by either: posting where you got your picture, or in some cases you will need to e-mail them and ask their permission to use their photos! Copyright law needs to be respected, using photos without permission is considered stealing! So, please be courteous and respect this law! If you are posting information on any particular plant from another site please post where you got this information by adding the URL address, or the name of the author! |

On some photos the name of the photographer and the date taken aore on the bottom of the photo. Some sites will not let you upload a photo from their site, a good method to prevent theft of their photos. Others do not mind and just ask to give them credit if you do use them. Others ask you to please e-mail them and ask permission to upload and use the photo. They do not mind if it is used for educational purposes! A lot of the sites are copyright and this is usually listed in the credits at the bottom of their home page. Again, use discretion and give the owner the credit he/she is due! I find the best thing to do is give the URL address of the site you uploaded the photo from. If you look at the bottom of this page you will find Copyright © 1997-2007 Hillclimb Media.
