Is this sunburn? This hosta gets a lot of sun, but I've seen plenty of others in yards in full sun and they look beautiful...

Variegated hostas need shade. I had the same hosta in two locations, one with afternoon sun because the sun reaches under the tree in late summer. You wouldn't know it was the same plant. The one with some sun had burned variegation and colorless leaves, while the shaded one is gorgeous.

I moved it a little closer under the tree. I hope next year it can take a little more sun after it gets more established, but I expect the white variegation will show some burn despite that.

Is it too late to move now? We have been having 70s/50s lately - I may just wait until spring...this will be a great addition to my front fence border with a grouping of heucheras!! And then the mum can go where the hosta is...it is all coming together!

This is the best time to move hostas. They're extremely hardy, so go for it!
